Tramping Tribe - The Tongariro Crossing

Start 2023 off with a bang as you, and your fellow Tribe Gals walk the Tongariro Crossing.  Heralded as the best one-day trek in NZ and among the top ten 'single-day treks' in the world  🤩

Those who've completed this 19.4 km adventure will tell you it's a steep climb in parts but wildly worth it. You'll need to be moderately fit but, as long as you can manage 7-9 hours of up-hill and down-dale, you'll be as good as gold. 

The plan is you'll meet at the lodge on the Friday, share a meal and enjoy the fine company. Then, on the following day you'll walk the Crossing together and back to your accommodation for another shared meal and good nights sleep before heading home  on the Sunday. 

A truly spectacular weekend adventure of good times, great girl chats and creating memories that'll last forever as you knock this one of the ole' bucket list .

Heres the Schedule:

Tribe Tramping Club - Tongariro Crossing Weekend Away -

• Friday, 3rd Mar - Arrive at your accommodation, Ngauruhoe Ski Club on Ohakune at approximately $55 per night 
• Saturday 4th Mar - Catch the shuttle to the start of the walk ($50pp) and enjoy the return, 7-9 hour walk through the volcanic wonder-world where you'll again meet the shuttle and back to the accommodation 
• Sunday 5th Mar - Home time!

Good news! Tribe events are designed to be attended solo because everyone you meet is there to make new friends too.

Worried you won't be fit enough?

This tramp requires a moderate level of fitness with you walking 7-9 hours which, at times, can be very steep. The weather can be unpredicatable as well so do your pghysical preparation while still remembering, this isn't an iron woman competition and you can go at your own pace 😜
